Gold standard carpet tiles for OGCI Climate Investments
The sustainable credentials of modulyss carpet tiles have seen DSGN Absolute selected for the London offices of OGCI Climate Investments, an investment fund for environmentally focused start-ups in the energy and industrial sectors.
Specified by AIS, a leading workplace design and build company, DSGN Absolute contributed to the interior’s SKA Gold certification, an environmental assessment method and benchmark especially designed for fit-out projects. Fitted throughout the reception, meeting rooms and open plan working areas, DSGN Absolute is a structured loop pile quality made from solution-dyed polyamide 6 yarn. Equipped with a BRE Environmental Profile, the carpet tile fulfilled the stringent conditions of SKA’s Gold standard, while providing a unique look through its mix of colour nuances.
With its sustainable business focus, the client was naturally after an interior that met high environmental standards. We were tasked with the challenge of reaching SKA Gold standard and so sought out products that could help us achieve this, while meeting our design needs.

The DSGN Absolute carpet tile, which we chose in a palette complimenting the client’s corporate identity, met this challenge admirably through its versatile and functional design and BRE Environmental Profile. When the client also learned of the tile’s ability to specified with the wellbeing benefits of comfortBack recycled content backing, they were keen to include this too and so we worked with modulyss to deliver a special-order product that would meet their desires.

Made from 99% recycled polyester, comfortBack is a felt backing that improves underfoot feel and boosts sound absorption, while absorbing the impact of traffic for a carpet tile that lasts longer. Delivering trainer-like levels of comfort, it brings a noticeable improvement in the interior environment for users and benefits the lifecycle of the product.
DSGN Absolute is available in a palette of 16 functional colours with workman blues, greys and earth tones bringing a versatile off-the-shelf solution for a range of projects. The additional benefit of its environmental profile (BRE ENP 428), qualifying LEED credits status and CRI Green Label Plus certification makes it a great option for projects looking for a cost-effective product that can work within environmental assessment schemes.
