Multi-functional colour at Alzheimer’s Research UK
The Cambridge headquarter of Alzheimer’s Research UK has recently been refurbished, including the commissioning of an additional 350 m² of office space, with the Motion /// Vision carpet tile concept from modulyss playing a key role.
Specified within the refurbishment by Alium Design, Motion and Vision carpet tiles in various colourways have been installed through the open plan offices, meeting rooms, break-out space and reception area.
We wanted a carpet tile that graduated colour from a neutral base, available in different colourways that could blend seamlessly. The meeting rooms are multi-functional, with folding walls, so it was important that they had their own identity yet could come together as whole for when the space is used as one large meeting area.
- Mike Hole, Alium Design
The carpet tiles used in the reception and breakout area, feeding directly off the meeting room suite, needed to be more vibrant and stimulating, but follow the same design. The Motion /// Vision carpet tile collection from modulyss had the style and depth to allow us to meet both tasks.
- Mike Hole, Alium Design
Alium Design used a total of 195 m² of carpet tiles from modulyss, using 210 and 315 colourways in Motion and 210, 315 and 914 in Vision. Designed to work seamlessly together, both designs are made in a high-quality 1/12th gauge construction for precise pattern production and luxurious texture. Tufted from stain and fade-resistant polyamide for easy maintenance and wear-resistance, Motion /// Vision is a high-performance Class 33 carpet tile for demanding commercial use.
We were looking for a durable floor finish in a varied palette that could accommodate changing colour without using cut-ins. Motion /// Vision gave us this flexibility and comes as a good quality carpet at a sensible price.
